At The Windows Xp Log-on Screen Where It Asks For Your Password?
| December 11, 2009 | Posted by HTBP under How to Bypass |
At the windows XP log-on screen where it asks for your password. I want to bypass this screen and log into the computer, because I forgot the password to the notebook computer. It won't let you log in simply by leaving the username and password boxes blank. How do you bypass this, or how do you reset or turn off the password prompt?
Try this:
1. Log out and reboot your machine.
2. When the machine starts the reboot sequence, press the F8 key repeatedly.
3. Select Safe Mode from the resulting menu.
4. The machine will continue booting, but the Windows desktop will look different. You won't be able to see the Internet, for instance. Log in as Administrator. Administrator often has no password.
5. Click on the Start->Control Panel menu item.
6. Click on User Accounts.
7. Click on your regular account.
8. Click on Remove the Password.
9. Finish up and reboot normally.
Good luck.
You must log in as Adminstrator
Go to Control Panel > User Accounts >
double-click on the Account you want to change the password requirements >
select Remove the password requirement.
If you are not the Administrator
you will h ave to ask that person to do this for you.
If you ARE the Administrator and have forgotten the Administrator password:
Start your computer and at the logon screen, click your user name and leave the password box blank or just type in anything. This will bring up a Logon Failure box and you will then see the option to use your Password Reset disk to create a new password. Click it which will initiate the Password Reset wizard. Insert your password reset disk into your floppy drive and follow the wizard which will let you choose a new password to use for your account.
Note: If your computer is part of a domain, the procedure for creating a password disk is different.

Sometimes you can get around this by booting to safe mode and logging in to another administrator account. Then you can remove the password in control panel, user accounts, select account, remove password.
If this doesn't work, you can buy a tool to remove the password.

Hi, why don't remove the password with windows password Recovery tool 3.0.
If you can not remember the windows admin password, try to reset it with a reset disk. Free download windows password Recovery Tool 3.0 and there is a .iso file included. Burn the .ISO file onto a blank CD which is so-called windows password Recovery disk. With this disk, you can reset the unknown password without erasing anything
