How Can You Bypass A Windows Password Lock In A Used Pc To Use It?
| May 31, 2009 | Posted by HTBP under How to Bypass |
I purchased a used pc from a yard sale, but it has a password lock on windows.Since I don't know the password and apparently neither does the lady who sold it to me,how can I bypass it and get windows to open so I can change it.I used to know how to do the safe mode thing from the bios startup, but forgot it.
A simple solution is to make a new installation of your OS.
You can format the harddrive and install the windows.
are you using windows xp? try pressing f8 at boot-up and go to safemode. it will have the administrator account added to the list of available accounts. try logging in to the administrator and then clear the passwords of the other accounts...
now, if the administrator account also has a password.. you have to go through the windows "backdoor". you will be needing just the windows xp installation cd. you need not format.. you just need to rerun the setup. when the setup prompts "installing devices", press shift + f10, and it will open a prompt that has higher priviledge than an admin. just type "control userpasswords2" then press Enter, and you can clear the passwords of the existing accounts... hope this helps.. good luck.
cant you just format?
Once you reach the XP style log in screen, Click ctrl+alt+del.
You should get a choice of writing a user name and a password.
Type administrator and press enter.DO not type a password. U should be able to log in.
If not, go to another PC and search for Ophcrack on the web.
This program helps get passwords. Download the software and burn it on a CD. Switch on the computer and change the boot order to CD first. Then open your PC optical drive and put the CD and restart.U should get ur stuff within minutes.
