If you bought the phone from Cingular it is locked to the Cingular network, and unless Sprint uses Sim cards (I don’t personally know) like your Razr does you cannot use that phone anyway (It uses a Sim card)…..Unlocked phones only work on networks that utilize sim cards, Cingular being one of them, also all phones bought from any carrier will all be locked to there own network unless you buy a phone that has been “unlocked” from a third party seller

  1. Cingular phones will never work with Sprint. Cingular’s phones and network are GSM, which require a sim card in order to work. Sprint’s phones and network are CDMA, which doesn’t use sim cards. They are two completely different technologies and are not compatible with each other.

As far as whether or not your phone is unlocked, if you bought it from Cingular, and have not had it unlocked, then it is not unlocked. Cingular has their phones locked to their network. An unlocked phone from Cingular will work with any GSM provider, such as T-Mobile.

  2. You can’t use a Cingular phone on Sprint. With Sprint, you can only use Sprint CMDA phones. Cingular uses GSM.

You can transfer your phone number to Sprint, though, but not the phone itself.
