If you don't want to get busted, use an SSH tunnel. It works like a proxy, but also encrypted the data, so even if they sniff your traffic, they will not be able to see what you are doing. A proxy just redirects it, but doesn't encrypt. A half-way decent administrator can find you out. The only downside is that you need to be able to SSH into a computer, but you may be able to setup an SSH account for free if you search. Or set one up from your home computer.
