How To Bypass Xp Online Registration After Install?

I still have our old Compaq Presario, and I wanted to get it going for my kids to use. I changed out of the memory awhile ago, so when I booted it for the first time in a couple years, it is asking to get online to register the version before it can continue. I have ethernet, and this old Presario needs an adapter to use it…that software would need to be installed before I can use it. Is there any way around this? Is there a program I can run on this computer and burn some sort of boot cd? Both computer came with XP installed already, so I only have a re-install cd for my Dell.
Is there any work-around for this issue? The computer will likely never be online, more so be used to play kids games, etc.
Thanks!
Chad

  1. HI,
I think we cannot skip that, but when you attempt to install OS the n give some other Cd key. this may work..

  2. Windows usually provides for registration by phone as well. You can call Microsoft and see. If not, try Linux. I have heard good things about Ubuntu Linux.
