How to Unblock a Number From a Verizon Phone

Verizon Wireless gives its customers the ability to block unwanted phone calls. By changing the settings on your personal account online, you can prevent up to five different numbers from calling you. When you want to unblock one of the numbers, it’s as easy as deleting the number from the list.

    Visit the Verizon Wireless website. “Sign in” by inputting your user ID and password under “Manage Your Account,” or register for an account with your phone number.
    Click on the “Safe Guards” tab once the page loads.
    Click the “Call & Message Blocking” tab, then click the “Learn More” button. You will see a list of numbers you have blocked.
    Delete any number you wish to unblock and click “Apply.”
    Wait for the confirmation window to appear to verify that you have changed and saved your new settings.

  2. Call Verizon Wireless, by dialing 1-800-922-0204. As of February 2010, customer service representatives are able to assist customers seven days a week from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. You will be prompted to enter your 10-digit telephone number in order to be connected to a customer service representative.
    Provide the necessary privacy information requested by the customer service representative. You will need to provide your full name, the last four digits of your Social Security Number and mailing address. You must provide all of this information before the customer service representative will assist you further.
    Request that your private number be unblocked. This change can be completed in a matter of moments. When you request this change, all calls from that point forward will be unblocked and therefore deliver your name and phone number to recipients’ caller ids.
    Perform a test call after you have finished talking with the Verizon Wireless customer service representative. You can call someone who owns a caller id, or even your home number, to ensure your phone number is no longer blocked.
    Simply dial *82 before dialing the phone number you are trying to reach if you want to unblock calls on a case-by-case basis.. This will only unblock your number for one call.
