You can probably cheat the BIOS password protection by removing the CMOS battery for a day, then reinstalling it; that should make the mobo forget the password. If it doesn’t, you can always re-flash the BIOS; follow the instructions on the mobo manufacturer’s Web site.
In re: The Windows 2000 computer’s password, if you don’t have anything on the PC of value, once you get past the BIOS issue, just format the disk and start anew.

You might need to take your computer to a professional so he can hack into it

for bios you have to flush your memory for doing that you probably have a cell on your mother board, or may be a jumper call JP3 or other, but for win2k security I think you would have to delete all SAM files and that might also no work

i would remove the BIOS chip for a minute then put it back in, this will clear all the BIOS settings, also remove the battery on the motherboard for a minute and try again.

There is a battery on the motherboard
You need to unplug power /remove this wait and put it back to reset the bios
Some older motherbords dont have a battery and you will see soem pins that need to be moved to reset it

1. ask the previous owner
2. to bypass bios pw disconnect power supply and take out the battery out of the mainboard (you have to unscrew the computer). Some mainboards require a shortcut of an electrical circuit on board. The manual (to be found online for most brands) will tell you.
