My iPhone doesn’t work unless it is plugged in. How can I get it to work without a charger?

Question by Graham: My iPhone doesn’t work unless it is plugged in. How can I get it to work without a charger?
I dropped it two months ago and now it has a big crack in the back. I can’t turn it off, the button on top doesn’t work, so it shuts down by itself. When it is off the charger, it goes to the “slide to unlock” screen, and if I don’t slide it, it turns black, then shows the apple sign, then black, then apple, etc. I have to plug it back in to get it to work again. How can I get it to work without the charger?

  1. Your device has physical damage so it will not be repaired or replaced by Apple or AT&T for free. You will have to pay for any repairs or purchase a new phone

  2. if it is a new phone, you should take to an apple store so they can look at it. If the phone is more than 2 years, the battery is probably dead. As you know you cannot replace the iphone battery by yourself. Apple won’t do it. But there are third party technician who will change the battery for you. Depending on where you live, look on the web and it should be easy to find someone to replace that.
