That was formerly owned by the McDonald’s Corporation..
Upon starting the computer up at my house.. I discovered that the old software that McD’s uses for their computers is still installed and that I can’t access Windows without a password and then a username..
Can anyone help me with this?
I’d like to install a new operating system on this thing..
But I don’t know how to bypass the password system…
I can give you my IM if you need more info than that

If you start up from a new system disk you can bypass the password. You would then have to erase the hard drive and do a clean install of all your software.

Goto the nearest mcdonalds, wait in line & when they ask what you would like to order, tell them the pw for the comptuer you bought.
Seriously if the computer boots up to the windows login screen, I would goto the bios & set it to boot off the cd/dvd drive & reinstall windows or whatever operating system you were planning.

Nice try…
A few things seem fishy here.
Yes, corporations sometime give away or sell their old computers but they always clear the hard drive of everything. If they didnt, that would be a serious IT security problem. That tells me that the computer might be stolen.
If the corporation truly did “give” you that computer legally. Your solution would be quite simple. You could just take it back and have them remove everything like they should have in the first place. They would be happy to do so.
The other thing that might be happening here is this might be some sort of amaturish attempt to see if you can hack into one of their computers.
