Q&A: How do I bypass the passcode on iPhone 3GS 32GB running 3.1.3?

Question by : How do I bypass the passcode on iPhone 3GS 32GB running 3.1.3?
So my friend wants to sell me an iPhone 3GS 32GB he bought from ebay.
He says its perfect but the only problem is he does not know the passcode to it on the “slide to unlock” screen.
which means its useless unless i can disable or bypass this code without knowing the code.

So… i was wondering if i simply plug this thing into the CPU and restore it from iTunes, will it remove the passcode?
If not, then how can i bypass the passcode?

Also is there a way to do this without deleting all of the data on the Phone?

**THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS TO GET RID OF THE PASSCODE SO I CAN USE THE PHONE

i’m not sure if it’s the same on the iphone, but on the ipod touch, you can take the passcode off the device, but you will have to delete everythinq off of it. (like if you do a certain amount of tries, it automatically just lets you go through, but it deletes everythinq, so..but why dont you restore the phone and then let your friend sync stuff back on for you?

  1. Plug phone into computer and start iTunes. Select the phone. Click restore. Wait
the code will be cleared and yea everything personal will be deleted from the phone. This is to prevent theft of personal data from a stolen phone. If you have a smaller/older iPhone you can back it up beforehand and the restore it after doing a factory reset.
