Q&A: My iPhone 3G is totally frozen, how do I fix it?

Question by iPhone Master: My iPhone 3G is totally frozen, how do I fix it?
Ok my iPhone (3G) is completely frozen at the “Slide to Unlock” screen. I know how to reset it and all, but the big problem is the shut off button on the top, is broken. iTunes cannot detect it, the phone does not detect anything. How in the world can i fix it before i start drilling holes in it?

  1. Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
