Why would the designers of the filtering software make it so you could find out the password and defeat their product? They make money by making it secure and as you have seen preventing trivial stuff like proxies form having any effect.
Maybe a talk with your parents is a better option?
You might be able to reset to factory default setttings by pressing the reset button for several seconds.
You might have have the button pressed before you apply power.
Do a search for your specific model.
Is there anyway to maybe bypass this password so I can go online, I was thinking of downloading the firefox installation program and copying it to a cd and try loading it at my work computer, we use internet explorer at work, do u think this might work if I install another browser? Any help would be appreciated.
When I start up my HP desktop, I get the login, but I don’t know the password, but when I try to start in safe mode I also get the login and again I don’t know the password, so I am locked out of the computer. When I put in a password that I thought was correct, it bypassed all the start-up and went right to a desktop image and stayed there. I tried other user names to no avail. To top it off, the CD-rom drive was not recognizing a CD, so I could not boot from the CD. I am running Windows 2000 on this computer. Please help. I can’t do anything if I can’t even boot it up in any kind of mode. Thank you in advance.
computer turns on and then calls for password
i have a desktop dell computer and it has windows xp on it. when i first start up the computer it goes to a screen for me to put in a name and password. i have tried to think of everything but have had no luck. is there any way to bypass this screen. i tried to start in safe mode but it still won’t let me past it. any help would be appreciated. thanks.
I posted a ? last night regarding preventing someone from bypassing passwords by using the F8 function key, logging on as admin., and then changing the password on one of the other 2 accounts. I received a helpful reply from someone named Mr. Ed.
He/she directed me to use run: “control userpasswords2″ to change the password on the admin. account and said I should change use of the other two accounts to “power user.”
There is no “power user” on WinXP Home Edition, only admin/limited access. From what I can tell, limited access users can still change passwords.
I changed the password on the Administrator account. My question is can the password still be bypassed by F8 via the administrator if that password has been changed by me? In other words meaning, can they change the administrator password so that they can access the other 2 accounts to change passwords?
Any help/info/advice is appreciated. I’m somewhat computer savvy, but not enough as to mess with Bios. Thanks!
anyway to bypass it and log on and change th epassword so that I can fix it and be able to look in the administrative options
