Question by : How do I fix the touch screen on my iTouch?
OK so today during a play/assembly at school (I'm in 8th grade) I was bored so I took out my iTouch. My iTouch is an older one, I got it back in 2008 or 2009 I think, it doesn't have a camera. One of the teachers saw me and took it away. I had the app iDie open and I didn't close it but I hit the sleep button on the top before I gave it to him. During the play, I looked and saw he had the case open and was doing or playing something on MY iTouch. At the end of the play we had a talk and he gave it back to me. So I put it in my pocket and when I got home, I took it out and to my dismay, when I went to unlock it, (the "Slide to Unlock" thing) wouldn't slide. It was like the screen wasn't sensing that I was touching it. Since I can't turn it off manually since the screen won't work, I'm waiting for the battery to run out so it will shut off automatically and then hopefully when I turn it back on, the screen will work. It's pretty much my only option. That usually works when my iTouch freezes. Again, the sleep button and the home screen button work, but the touch screen doesn't. Unfortunately, my iTouch is jailbroken so I can't go in to get it fixed. I know the teacher did something to my iTouch either on accident or on purpose because it worked before he took it but it didn't work after he gave it back to me (He seemed like a pretty nice guy, though). If anybody knows what the teacher did to my iTouch or how to get it fixed, PLEASE tell me. Thanks so much!!!!!

Best answer:

Answer by ricky
try restoring it,and then rejailbreaking it
oh and by the way i dont have rice, would rice crisps work??
and i cant do the blow dryer thing because none of my family members know yet :/

Best answer:

Answer by Ginny C
well it sounds like you've had it inside for awhile, nontheless i would be sure that your hands are warm and dry. the touch screen responds more to heat than touch. other than that, I would recoment standard hardware-no-workey stuff, like shut it down and leave it for a few minuites, then turn it back on. if that dosent work, i would remove any kind of sim card the itouch has and let that dry out and put it back in.

Question by : How to get an iPod out of black screen?
I was playing Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe (yes I know horrible ratings and such), and since I'm a "noob" at the game, I decided to look up how to use fatalities, and the quickest way to do this was on my iPod Touch Second Generation. While I was looking up the fatalities on IGN's website, I locked my iPod Touch then did the fatality, and to my surprise the iPod would not go to the "Slide to Unlock" screen. My question comes to this Does anyone know how to fix this?

Additional information you may need to know: My iPod is not, nor has ever had non-apple modifications or firmwares, My iPod is on version 4.2.1 (Can't update to 4.3 iTunes wont allow me) and iTunes does not let me restore the iPod to "Factory Settings".

Question by Online G: How to create a deceptive black screen on my computer?
I want to create a fake black screen display on my computer; essentially, I want the display to have the following properties:

(a) To an observer it appears that the computer is switched off.

(b) However, the mouse and other applications continue to work; you can click icons and start applications. The only thing is that you can't see what is happening (or what you are clicking).

(c) There is a "secret way" to get from "normal" to "black screen mode" and back

Basically, I am using an "auto mouse mover and clicker" to run certain applications on my computer. But I don't want others to see what applications are running (started and stopped by my auto mouse mover and clicker), but at the same time, I want them to run. I also want some method to get back to normal from the "black screen mode"; perhaps some password or "hotkey" of some sort.

Thanks in advance for all the help; I'd really appreciate a useful answer to this question as this is very important at the moment (please don't ask me why!). Also, I'll definitely reward the best answer with 10 points, and give it a thumbs up as well.

The problem with simply turning the monitor off is that anyone with a bit of intelligence could turn it back on. I'd like to create a deceptive black screen that only a "secret code" could "unlock" (perhaps a hotkey or a password). Can you please suggest a way to turn off the monitor such that only a password can turn it on (though I'd like a trick not involving the monitor if possible)? Thanks everyone and please give an answer as soon as possible!

Best answer:

Answer by saidan_ryuuza
I used to use a Virtual Desktop program called VirtuaWin (http://virtuawin.sourceforge.net/) that would allow me to hit a hot key on my keyboard to switch to a virtual desktop that had either a) Nothing open on it b) work related documents. Outside of trying to be sly with your boss or girlfriend, it is actually very productive to be able to keep work stuff on one desktop and play stuff on the other. This program allows you to have up to 9 virtual desktops. And unless someone knows the program is installed and knows your customizable hot-key to switch desktops, they would not know the other existed. However the Task Manager would still show what tasks were running. Mac and Linux users have this functionality built in. So if you are running a Mac, look into a program called Spaces that should ship with Leopard and Snow Leopard

I used this on XP and Vista and it worked great, but I can't seem to get it to work properly on Windows 7. Hope this helps.

Question by Sally: How do you unlock the screen lock on Switch GOWidget (Go Launcher EX widget)?
I just got a new phone and a friend recommended Go Launcher Ex, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I also installed Switch GoWidget, apparently it's a new go launcher app.

One of the features is a screen lock, apparently I turned it on without intending to. I vaguely remember a pop up about "unlocking" but it popped up as I hit the power button to turn the screen off, so I didn't get a chance to read it all but I did see something about taps.

I have tried short taps, long taps, tapping on the left side, right side, top, bottom, and every switch in the app and it's still locked. I've also tried hitting up google for an answer, to turn the phone off then back on, and to uninstall the app but it's still locked. Can anyone tell me how to unlock my screen so I can move things on my screen again?

Best answer:

Answer by chris
Hi, had the same problem, spent ages looking at every option, eventually found it! Press your menu key on the home screen, select "more" in the bottom right and the option is there to unlock screen, hope this helps

I have an iPhone 4, and one of my friends put a screen shot of their lock screen on Facebook. It had a design on the dark parts around the time & date, and the "slide to unlock" part. I was wondering if this is a normal feature, and if so, how do you do it? I was also wondering how to change iPhone font easily. If either requires jailbreaking then I'm not interested. I have the HTC Touch Pro from Sprint. I was sending a text message. As soon as it sent, it pulled up a multi-colored screen with the header "Security Unlocked." The code read:

RAPH800
SPL-0.37.0000
MicroP-Hermann (LED) v0C85
MicroP-Hermann (KEY) v0685
PSOC-Raph STAGE_EVT v20

The screen is red, on top of green, on top of blue. There's a footer area with the word "Serial."

I looked up online real quick to troubleshoot. Apparently this screen is achieved when you literally unlock the phone and can put in your own ROM....or something like that.

I wasn't trying to mess with my phone like that. I don't wanna break it. How do I get rid of this screen? Will my phone go back to normal working condition? This phone was purchased refurbished from a guy I know. Never had problems with the phone until now....if that helps.

Any detailed help would be greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, I can't live without my cellphone =/ Thanks for reading!

Answer by G
Try doing a soft reset first. If that does not fix it then you will have to a hard reset. Follow the directions,
