I am not going to provide details, but I believe my husband is suspicious of me and has been spying on my computer usage, web history, etc. without my consent or knowledge, and I want to figure out exactly what is going on here before I make accusations. I have reason to believe he has been hacking through and reading my emails, which is illegal. He is the tech-savvy one in this house and has all the administrative powers on most of the computers, and he locks it with a password he has refused to give me. I am getting utterly fed-up with this. Can someone please tell me if they know of some way for me to bypass the administrative account’s password with my standard account? I have looked through a few sites on Google that tried to explain it, but I do not understand everything they are talking about and I don’t want to risk doing something wrong and making the computer unusable, since they mentioned putting a different system on the computer, but I’m not sure if that would mean erasing everything on the computer. I do not want to reset everything because this computer has vital information on it that I do not want to be lost. If there’s some site that could guide me through the entire process step-by-step I’d really appreciate it. Or if someone could tell me, please, try and be as detailed as possible, and don’t assume I know what computer lingo means. I am noticing that people who work with computers a lot assume that other people know what it means without explaining it, and get frustrated when they don’t. Explain it to me as you would to a child, if you must. I refuse to put up with this any more.
