What Kind Of Procedures Can A Doctor Do To Unblock Fallopian Tubes?
| July 30, 2009 | Posted by HTBP under How to Unblock |
I found out that both of my fallopian tubes are blocked. The radiologist informed me that it does not mean that we can't get pregnant. He said that the doctors have a starting point now.
It depends upon how badly and why they are blocked. Sometimes they can unblock them by flushing them. But I wouldn't count on it. I don't know of other ways to unblock them, you might check out some of the infertility sites like Resolve.org for women who had this issue.
One problem with doing too much to unblock them is that they can be damaged or may quickly become blocked again. The tubes have little fingers that move the growing embryo along and if these aren't working right it can raise your chances for an ectopic pg.
If they can't unblock your tube your only option is to do IVF. But it's better than no option.
I'm sorry I don't have better news. Patti
I had an HSG done last month... they saw one fallopian tube and ovary highlighted with the "glowing dye" that shows up on the x-ray. The doctor said that the liquid may clear out any debris in the fallopian tubes. If you had an HSG done and that's how you found out both fallopian tubes are blocked, hopefully the doctor will have more answers for you.
Baby dust to you...
Have you had an HSG test done? It can try to unblock your tubes. That's the only one I can think of off the top of my head. Good luck!
