Will Wiring My Alternator Like This Work?
| December 10, 2009 | Posted by HTBP under How to Bypass |
I have a 92 nissan maxima and I bought a 200 amp alternator off of a 99' ford expedtion and the computer inputs are different. Instead of wiring the computer and all the wires in, what if I just ran a wire from the alternator power output pole to the + pole on the battery, would work and charge the battey? Or is the alternators voltage regulated by the cars computer or somthing of that nature? If so is there anyway I can bypass this or even jerry-rig the nissans wires to fit into the fords?
ALTERNATORS GIVE OUT AC
CAR BATTERIES WORK ON DC
DO NOT DIRECTLY ATTACH AN ALTERNATOR TO THE BATTERY!
You need to run it through a half or full wave rectifier first.
your gonna set this car on fire man, never hook up an alternator with a battery dude... you better get a friend to fill you in on this, or take it to a mechanic, your and i don't mean this wrong ok, but your foolin with something you don't anything about dude...sorry but it's true, be safe man, cars are tricky things, don't guess at them, if you ain't sure ask someone first....
